Rabbanit Gilla Rosen was born in the United States and has been involved in Jewish education for over 30 years. She has an M.A. in comparative literature and has studied at Michlala, Nishmat and Matan. Her methodology in the study of Gemara as well as her religious thought have been deeply influenced by Rav Lichtenstein. She attended his Gemara shiur at the Gruss Kollel for 3 years and continued to study with him subsequently. Gilla is the Dean emerita of the Yakar Center for Tradition and Creativity. She has lectured at Yakar, Nishmat, Pardes, Lindenbaum and the Hebrew University. She currently teaches Gemara and Midrash and serves as a Halachic Advisor (Yoetzet Halakha) for women.
