Eli Beer is a social entrepreneur and Founder of United Hatzalah, Israel’s pre-eminent rapid response community-based EMS network made up of over 6000 volunteer medics who respond to more than 1800 calls daily in under 3 minutes anywhere in Israel free of charge. United Hatzalah’s signature Ambucycles (motorcycles outfitted as ambulances) are instantly recognized across the country, along with the medics often regarded as ‘angels in orange who represent the diverse cultural and religious population of Israel.
Over the last 15 years the organization has grown significantly and includes a range of other emergency vehicles and unique programmes that have secured United Hatzalah’s reputation as global leader in medical innovation. In 2013, Eli Beer was featured in a TED Talk discussing the origins of the organization and shared his vision for bringing this life saving model to other counties around the world.
