Dr. Rachel Kupferman is a scholar who specializes in Jewish self-representation in material and visual culture. She completed her Ph.D. in Jewish Art History at Bar Ilan University on Dutch Jews of the early modern period. Kupferman's academic background includes an M.A. in Contemporary Art History from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a B.A. from Yeshiva University's Stern College for Women. Her background in museums in exhibitions and collection studies is informed by an interest in public education and preservation of cultural heritage. Kupferman's work focuses on Jewish identity, experience, and Jewish visual self-fashioning throughout history.
