Ari Gordon is currently a PhD candidate in Islamic studies at the University of Pennsylvania, where he researches the history of Islamic ritual, sacred geography and Muslim-Jewish relations. He also serves as American Jewish Committee's (AJC) special advisor for Interreligious and Intergroup Relations and, from 2005-2008, was the department's assistant director. Ari lectures regularly for international and American groups about Judaism and other religions and serves as a member of the research team of the International Council of Christians and Jews (ICCJ). In the 2015/16 academic year he was a Kogod Research Fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America. Ari received his Master of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School (HDS) in 2010, during which time he was also a Wexner Foundation Graduate Fellow. He completed his bachelor's degree in philosophy at Yeshiva University in 2005. Ari is married to Shuli Taubes and lives in New York City.
