Speaker Profile Rav Yosef Zvi Rimon

Rav Yosef Zvi Rimon is an internationally acclaimed posek - decisor of Jewish law – as well as an author, educator, and lecturer. Individuals and communities from around the globe turn to him regarding complex questions in Halacha, the responses of which have been pivotal in helping shape the contemporary Jewish world. Through his book series, Halacha MiMekora, Rav Rimon has become known worldwide for developing an innovative methodology for teaching Halacha, taking the reader from the sources to the practical application of Halacha in our modern reality within the framework of a user-friendly, pedagogical methodology.

Rav Rimon is Rosh Yeshiva of Lev Academic Center (JCT), as well as the community rabbi of Alon Shvut South. For Rav Rimon, innovation in Torah and Chessed come hand in hand. He is founder and chairman of Sulamot, which was established in order to innovate the way that Jewish education is taught and studied, making it accessible, inspiring, and empowering to children and adults in hundreds of communities and schools across the globe. Through breakthrough methodologies, cutting-edge technology and immersive learning experiences, Sulamot seeks to enrich and enhance Jewish life in every corner of the world. Rav Rimon is the founder and chairman of La’Ofek (formerly JobKatif) which has enabled some 3,000 individuals break the ceiling of poverty and enjoy financial security.  Originally established to help the Gush Katif evacuees, La'Ofek has an array of employment-based projects pillared on professional evaluation and assessment, individualized mentoring and employment placement. La’Ofek empowers marginalized population: Ethiopian-Israelis, needy soldiers, discharged lone soldiers, at-risk young adults, and corona unemployed; to maximize their opportunities, fulfill their dreams, and benefit from Israel’s dynamic workplace. In recognition of his outstanding achievements, Rav Rimon was awarded the Katz Prize in 2018 for the application of Halacha in modern society, the President's Prize for Volunteerism in 2008, and the Moskowitz Prize for Zionism in 2014 for his revolutionary Chessed initiatives.

Rav Rimon is married to Rabbanit Sharon, a highly accomplished educator and scholar in her own right, and is the father of eight girls.
