The renowned and sought after Raphael Elmaleh was born in Casablanca. He became the sole local Jewish guide after he travelled to all parts of Morocco, identifying and documenting Jewish towns and sites. He helped to enrich the collection of the Jewish Museum by transportation of artifacts and furniture from Jewish sites around the country. He has authored a book entitled “The Jews Under the Moroccan Skies”, and is a researcher on Jewish heritage and history. As a professional guide, Raphy shares his unique lived experience with passion for the Jewish legacy in Morocco.
