Speaker Profile Rabbi Yitzchok Adlerstein

Yitzchok Adlerstein is a member of the beit din l'giyur of the Rabbinical Council of California. This beit din played an important role in helping the RCA arrive at the protocols of the new GPS that has won recognition for the converts of the RCA with the Israeli Rabbinate. He holds the Sydney M Irmas Adjunct Chair in Jewish Law and Ethics at Loyola Law School, and teaches at Yeshiva University High Schools in Los Angeles. Rabbi Adlerstein is a contributing editor to the quarterly Jewish Action, as well as its regular computer columnist. Dozens of his essays have appeared in the Los Angeles Times, The National Law Journal, First Things, Tradition, Shma, the Los Angeles Daily Law Journal, and a host of Jewish ( Torah U-Madah, Jewish Observer, Hamodia, Midstream) and general printed and electronic media. He is an often interviewed and quoted spokesperson for Torah issues in Southern California , and has appeared on ABC’s 20/20, CBS National News, radio stations across the country, and in the Los Angeles Times and the New York Times. He is the cofounder of Crosscurrents, a blog of Torah and current affairs. His Be’er Hagolah: the Classic Defense of Rabbinic Judaism by Maharal of Prague, was published by Artscroll/Mesorah Publications, whose new edition of Ramban he is currently assisting in editorial review.
