Dr. Edward Breuer, a native of Montreal, received his PhD at Harvard. He taught at the University of Pennsylvania and Loyola University before making Aliyah with his family in 2001. Dr. Breuer teaches in the Department of Jewish History at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His research and publications have centered upon the Jewish Enlightenment and the writings of Moses Mendelssohn. He is the author of The Limits of Enlightenment: Jews, Germans and the 18th Century Study of Scripture.
