Dr. Michelle Friedman received an MD from the NYU School of Medicine and has completed advanced training at the Columbia University Psychoanalytic Center for Training and Research. In addition to her private practice and her role at YCT Rabbinical School where she holds the Steven and Sharon Lieberman Chair in Pastoral Counselling, Dr. Friedman is Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. For several decades her focus has been Jewish communal issues, the rabbinate and pastoral counselling. Together with Dr. Rachel Yehuda, Michelle co-authored The Art of Jewish Pastoral Counseling: A Guide for All Faiths published by Routledge in 2016. Her latest book, Divine Corners, a memoir about growing up as a daughter of Holocaust survivors on a chicken farm in the Catskills is currently being shopped by publishers.
