Rabbi Natan Slifkin To Appear as Scholar in Residence in Toronto

Rabbi Natan Slifkin, the "Zoo Rabbi," will be serving as Scholar in Residence for a joint Shabbaton with Torah in Motion and Zichron Yisroel Congregation of Associated Hebrew Schools on May 18, 2013. Rabbi Slifkin will continue his appearance on Sunday, May 19 at Shaarei Tefillah Congregation, where he will speak after Shacharit. Zichron Yisroel Congregation of Associated Hebrew Schools is located at 300 Atkinson Ave., Thornhill. Shaarei Shomayim Congregation is located at 3600 Bathurst St., Toronto.

Rabbi Dr. Natan Slifkin

Rabbi Dr. Natan Slifkin is the founder and director of the Biblical Museum of Natural History in Beit Shemesh. He received his doctorate from Bar-Ilan University with a dissertation on Rabbinic Encounters with Zoology. Rabbi Slifkin is the author of numerous works on the interface between Judaism and the natural world, including The Challenge of Creation, Sacred Monsters, The Torah Encyclopedia of the Animal Kingdom, and Rationalism vs. Mysticism.
