e-TiM: Taking Account: What the Research Says About the Challenges and Possibilities of Orthodoxy

This two-part series will take place on Thursday, December 30, 2021 and Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 11:00am Eastern.

Rabbi Mark Trencher, founder of Nishma Research, presents insights gleaned from the organization's recent studies.

Part 1: Modern Orthodoxy: Where We Stand and Where We are Going — While Haredi groups insulate themselves from secular culture, Modern Orthodoxy embraces it. But who, in the end, “owns” Modern Orthodoxy? And how does our secular interaction benefit or challenge us?  Where is the community going overall as it continues to evolve?

Part 2: The Finances of Orthodoxy — How is Orthodoxy doing financially? Are people coping with its expenses? Do we need to explore changes and, if so, what might they be? This talk includes findings from a just-released survey of 1,300 Modern Orthodox and 1,000 Haredi Jews.
