Dr. Marc Shapiro

Marc B. Shapiro holds the Weinberg Chair in Judaic Studies at the University of Scranton. A graduate of Brandeis (BA) and Harvard (PhD), he is the author of numerous books, articles, and reviews and is a popular scholar in residence at synagogues around the world. He has written Between the Yeshiva World and Modern Orthodoxy and The Limits of Orthodox Theology, both of which were National Jewish Book Award Finalists. Haim Ischakis

Haim Ischakis was born in Athens in 1959. His parents, who moved to Athens after WWII, originated from Ioannina and Chalkida, cities that were home to two flourishing Jewish communities, established before common era by Romaniote Greek-speaking Jews. Haim graduated from the Greek-French High School “Lycée Léonin” in 1976 and began to study Chemistry and Geology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
