Rabbi Shulman and his wife, Baila, recently made aliyah after 3 decades in the North American Rabbinate at the Young Israel of St. Louis, Shaarei Shomayim in Toronto, and House of Jacob-Mikveh Israel in Calgary. He is a passionate educator, infusing his rabbinic leadership with a love of Tanach, a passion for Religious Zionism, and a deep love of Israel. His passion for Israel is evident in his dynamic Tanach shiurim. This unique expertise was nurtured studying Tanach with such leading scholars as Rav Ya’akov Medan שליט"א and Professor Nechama Leibowitz ז"ל. He is also trained and experienced as a community Mohel. In addition to extensive teaching in both formal and informal frameworks, Rabbi Shulman has also served in significant formal educational leadership roles in St. Louis such as the visionary and creator of Yeshivat Kadimah High School, serving as its Founding Dean, as well as interim Head of School of Epstein Hebrew Academy. Rabbi Shulman’s educational background is Israel based, having studied there for 10 years prior to his rabbinic career. He holds an MA in Jewish Education from Touro University Jerusalem, a BSc in Computer Science from JCT (Machon Lev), and did his Kollel studies at Sha’alvim Education Center. He studied Milah with the Chief Mohel of Jerusalem, Yosef Halpern, ז"ל and has served as a Mohel for over 3 decades, including several years in partnership with Rabbi Mike Rovinsky, of EasyCircumcision, in the Midwest. Rabbi Shulman’s wife, Baila, hails from Sydney Australia, and they have 6 children (4 married) and a number of grandchildren, living in Israel, New York, Saint Louis, and Canada.
