The Poetry of Mourning

Rabbi Zvi Grumet

Wednesdays, July 24, 31, August 7
10 am Eastern, 5 pm Israel Time

We encounter Eikha and kinot every year, but they are probably amongst the least understood and least studied Jewish texts that we engage with regularly. After all, who wants to invest energy in so much sadness? When we look “under the hood” of these works we discover extraordinary poetry and bold theology. These three sessions will expose some of that and add meaning tour our encounter with them.
