We encounter Eikha and kinot every year, but they are probably amongst the least understood and least studied Jewish texts that we engage with regularly. After all, who wants to invest energy in so much sadness? When we look “under the hood” of these works we discover extraordinary poetry and bold theology. These three sessions will expose some of that and add meaning tour our encounter with them.

Rabbi Zvi Grumet

Zvi Grumet is a master educator and teacher of Tanakh. Rabbi Dr. Grumet has more than four decades of experience in formal and informal Jewish education, from high school through adult education, and in professional development for teacher and school leaders. He is currently Director of Education at The Lookstein Center of Bar-Ilan University, where he is Editor-in-Chief of Jewish Educational Leadership.
