Team Member Rabbi Jay Kelman

Rabbi Jay Kelman is founder and director of Torah in Motion. In addition to his leadership role at TiM, Rabbi Kelman teaches Halacha and Rabbinics at the Tanenbaum Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto. He received a BSc in accounting from Yeshiva University and Smicha from its affiliate, Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary and served as a pulpit rabbi in Toronto for 15 years. During that time he was a recipient of the Award for Rabbinic Leadership from the Jewish Federation of North America. Rabbi Kelman previously worked in the Tax Department of a large international accounting firm and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. For 15 years running his monthly column Money Matters was published in the Canadian Jewish News. He and his wife Ilana are the proud parents of six children.
