Rabbi Avi Herzog is a former pulpit rabbi and classroom educator. He currently lives in Givat Ze’ev, Israel. He delivers a weekly shiur for OU Israel in Modi’in, and he was a faculty member of Yeshivat Migdal HaTorah for several years, where he taught courses in Jewish Philosophy and Parashat HaShavu’a. He has been a scholar-in-residence in several communities in the US, Canada, and Israel. In addition, he freelances as a translator and editor, and is a copy editor for Lehrhaus, an online academic journal. He is also active in Beit Hakenesset Neve HaGivah in Givat Ze’ev, where he enjoys serving as a ba’al keri’ah, ba’al tefillah, and delivering occasional shiurim.
Rabbi Avi studied at Yeshivat Sha’alvim for two years, and received semichah from Hebrew Theologica College (Skokie Yeshiva) and a Masters of Hebrew Literature from HTC’s Jewish University of America.
