Dr. Yael Jaffe is an educator and scholar whose work focuses on the teaching and learning of Torah texts. She currently serves as Mashgicha Ruchanit and Chair of the Talmud Department at Maimonides School and has spent two decades teaching Tanach and Jewish texts in secondary schools and adult education settings. She holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University in reading research and Jewish text education and completed the Advanced Gemara Program at Stern College. Her scholarship explores Torah learning culture and innovative approaches to engaging learners in the study of classical Jewish texts, including the integration of art into text-based learning. Dr. Jaffe is also the host of Let’s Take a Step Back, a podcast exploring questions in education.
