Introduction to Hebrew Manuscripts– Prior to the founding of the printing press, there was only one way to transmit written texts from one generation to the other –painstakingly copying them by hand onto papyrus, parchment, or paper. What are Hebrew manuscript? Who created them, how, when, and why?  What materials did they use, and how did they work? Who used them, and for what purposes? What can they teach us about Jewish intellectual and spiritual life in the last 2000 years?
