In this year long series we will engage in a careful and close reading of the second half of the book of Yeshayahu and its historical and contemporary messages. An essential part of the learning will involve how the prophet used and refashioned previous narratives and themes in Tanakh to convey his message. As a side benefit, as many of the classic haftarot read in synagogue on Shabbat come from this section of Yeshayahu, our learning can help enhance our spiritual and intellectual experience in tefillah on Shabbat.
