Dr. Shani Bechhofer is a Jewish educator with decades of experience serving as a teacher, principal, researcher, evaluator, professor, coach, and consultant. Raised in Detroit, she attended Michlalah and has her BA in Judaic Studies from Stern College. Her PhD from Northwestern University was funded by the Wexner Foundation, and her oft-cited research on the Bais Yaakov movement has been academically influential. As a social scientist and as a practitioner, her primary foci have been school change; school leadership; and the roles of classroom climate and school culture in supporting healthy student and teacher learning and growth. At the core, the values derived from careful study of Neviim Acharonim inspire, shape, and guide her vision, both professionally and personally.
