As part of our "Spirituality Today" series, Rabbi Dr. Nathan Cardozo will dialogue with Dr. Elliott Malamet about faith, religious struggle and Rabbi Cardozo's unusual halachic conversion from a sephardic Jewish home into Judaism.

Rabbi Cardozo will give a seminar entitled: "The Challenge of Conformity, the Crisis of Spirituality and the need for Halachic Diversity."

Rabbi Dr. Nathan Lopes Cardozo is Dean of the David Cardozo Academy
and Tel Aviv's "Bet Midrash of Avraham Avinu" for secular Israelis, based in Jerusalem. He is a prominent lecturer and author, world renowned for his original insights into Judaism and his ability to communicate the relevance of Jewish values and practice in today's complicated world. A native of the Spanish- Portuguese Jewish community of Holland who holds a doctorate in philosophy, Rabbi Lopes Cardozo received rabbinic ordination from the Gateshead Talmudic College and studied in Israel at the Institute for Higher Rabbinical Studies of Chief Rabbi Unterman and at the Mir Yeshiva. His most recent book is
Thoughts to Ponder 1 and 2; Crisis, Covenant and Creativity and For the Love of Israel and the Jewish People.

Focusing on Jewish Women Throughout the ages, the 11-week program presents Jewish heroines, through textual sources, who are role models that embody positive attributes young women can emulate. Mothers and daughters learn together as well as participate in creative activities each week.
